December Athlete of the Month is Learn to Compete skier Alison Gourley! Ali has displayed enormous patience and positivity while overcoming injury and illness recently and is recognized by her teammates for her great attitude at team workouts, always having a smile on her face and being a great support to them at workouts and in competitions. Congratulations Ali, we wish you well in your up coming races!

How old were you when you starting skiing?
I started skiing when I was 7 or 8, but actually started competing when I was 12

Where is your favourite place to ski?
My favourite place to ski is Mt. Shark

Fondest ski memory?
My fondest ski memory is having fun with friends

What do you love about being part of Canmore Nordic Ski Club?
I like being part of CNSC because it’s a great group of people to train and compete with, we have a really nice facility and it’s awesome to be able to ski with good friends
