    Hello U16/U18,

Great racing out there today! Many great experiences to learn from and awesome effort giving your best.

Weather: -12 overnight with a high of -9 mid day. Partly cloudy/chance of flurries.

Sunday will be a bit more simple with an interval start skate race.  It is you and the clock out there, so be sure you focus on yourself throughout your warm up to get in a good mindset for the race.

The track rule is in effect being interval start. If you are passing, track early enough for someone to give way to the faster skier.  If you are tracked, respect the rule and give them space to pass, but don’t be afraid to stick to that racer and catch a ride.  The first 10 seconds are the hardest, but once you experience a faster pace you might realize you can hold that for the rest of your race.

Start lists are posted on Zone4 with 15 second interval starts all day.

    U20/Open Men & Women: 12km (4 x 3km)
    U18/U16 Boys & Girls: 7.5km (3 x 2.5km)

Check in at the teamroom 1 hour before your start to collect your bib. Most skis were dropped off today after the race, if not bring them by when you first arrive for us to give them an extra buff. Warm up on your warm up skis if you have some.

Awards will be at 11:45 for the Open/U20/Masters. 3PM for U12-U18. Same place as today.

An interval start race is a chance to see how hard you can push yourself and challenge yourself to get deep in that pain cave to leave everything on the course.  “Winning doesn’t always mean getting first place; it means getting the best out of yourself.” Meb Keflezighi
