AB Cup #3 has arrived!  Individual start classic race.  We are fortunate to be having a race, so please respect all the COVID-19 guidelines noted on the event website here: https://foothillsnordic.ca/races/alberta-cup-3-4/

Please: Arrive- Warm up- Race- Cool down- Depart.  Do not hang out at the venue.

Wear your mask the whole time you are at the venue, except when skiing.

The Health Assessment that everyone must fill out form for January 8th is available here: Athlete/Coach ASSESSMENT FORM

There will be no award ceremony. Medals that are earned will be distributed to coaches and we will hand them out at our next day of team training.

Access start around the day lodge by the skating rink.  Do not cut across the course. We will head to the start as a team, so your coach can help show the way.

Tracking rule is in effect, so remember the faster skier has the right of way. Track at least a full ski length so the athlete in front has time to get out of the track. If you get tracked, don’t be discouraged, but see it as an opportunity to get a ride!

Remember, if there is a track set, you can not push to the side with a gliding ski. That is skating and not allowed in a classic race. There were many infractions in the last AB Cup.  Cornering zones will be marked with a perpendicular V Board, and there will not be any tracks.

We will have a group warm up like usual.  The starts are 15 second intervals and they will run continuously from girls to boys. So we will all warm up together.  Meet at 12:55 for our group warm up.

Bring a puffy jacket to the start to keep yourself warm.  The XC Stadium is almost always windy and cold.

If you did not drop off your skis today, they need to be delivered to the teamroom by 11:30AM Saturday morning.

Arrive at the venue at 12:45 to check in with your coach and collect your bib.

These are our home courses, with our hills, in our mountain town.  We spend hours and hours climbing mountains all year, so you are well prepared for this challenging course.  Respect the challenge they provide, but embrace the challenge!  Looking forward to a great day of racing!
