Great racing out there today team!  It is good to keep in mind you are racing on courses designed for world cups, and you rose to the challenge leaving it all out there on the course.  Some observations from today:

Wear a mask at all times up at the nordic centre except when you are actively skiing.

Limit your time at the venue. Do your best to arrive, warm up, race, cool down, depart. There is no where to hang out inside and sitting in the cold is a recipe to get sick.

Check your email in the morning for the health assessment. I’ll try to post it here as well.

Wax your skis with Swix CH4 or Start Green.  Deliver your skis to the teamroom when you arrive to collect your bib.  We will give them a quick buff.  There are lots of different forecasts out there, but the snow is still very cold.

UPDATE: Interval Start Skate Race, not a mass start. Also, slight course change for the 2.5km and longer courses. You will turn left at the first flat spot leaving the stadium (about 100M into your course), come over the camel bumps next to the stadium, then head out onto the course like today.  Updated maps will be posted here: https://foothillsnordic.ca/races/alberta-cup-3-4/

Arrive1hr before your start to warm up on your own focusing on your specific needs to race your best. Finish your last intensity no more than15 minutes before your start so you can arrive at the start 10 minutes before to collect your chip. This way you will be nice and hot for the start of your race.

Schedule for the day here (and on Zone4):

Awards will be handed out at team training next week for those who receive them.

“There may be people who have more talent than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do.” Derek Jeter
