    Hello Track Attack,

What a hoot it was today. 10/10 to everyone for trying your absolute best and pushing to the maximum.

It is pretty awesome that we get to race in a city environment and the training venue for the Foothills Nordic Ski Team. There was a lot of snow farming and chinook battling that went into pulling off this race so be sure to be generous with big smiles and gratitude to the volunteers. Please bring running shoes just in case we decided to warm up on foot. Let’s rock this rodeo!

    Glide Wax
The glide wax recommendation is PS6/Ulla Blue or something in the -6 to -12 temperature range.
Glide waxing is not requirement for U10 and U12. It will not effect racing outcomes at the Track Attack age but can be a fun or funny optional family activity.

    Classic ski grip wax preparation
Classic skis for those that delivered to the Canmore Nordic Wax room on Thursday, will be delivered to the race venue in Calgary for Saturday morning. If you didn’t drop skis, they can be waxed at the venue if they are dropped two hours before the start. If you are waxing your own skis, hold tight. Coach Mark is testing as I type.

    How a race day looks
Racing for Track Attack is highly encourage and a great opportunity to try our best with a bunch of fun kids. The program is designed to for maximum fun and to build independence in the athletes. Canmore Nordic is responsible for taking the kids on a warm up and bringing them the start line. Parents, please cheer loudly and meet your kids at the finish line.

    Awards
U8/U10/U12 – Participation award for all racers.
    U12/U14/U16 – Year of Birth medals for 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd

I will update the Canmore Nordic Track Attack parent community on the whatsup group when I update the forum with new information. For the link to join: CLICK HERE
