    Hello LCs,

One exciting thing about xc ski training is that we are outside in the elements and things are constantly changing. We coaches do our best to organize fun and entertaining training sessions, but sometimes we need to alter plans to ensure everyone stays safe. Starting this week and for the rest of the year, always bring your running shoes to every training session just in case we need to make a last minute change to the training plan due to changes in weather, wildlife, trail conditions, cold weather, etc.

Don’t forget the iLog challenge for August. We will be going through all your iLogs (as always) and if you have every day filled out for August you will be entered into the monthly drawing. This month GIANT Toblerone.

    Training for this week:

Monday(10): LC1/LC2 8:00am-11:30? Classic Rollerski distance challenge! Today we are challenging you to ski a long way (rather than for an amount of time).
    2001s- 30km
    2000s- 35km
    1999s- 40km
    1998s- 50km
Meet at Travel Alberta at 8am to beet the tourists on the Legacy. The session ends when you have completed your distance challenge.

4:30-5:30pm: Strength in gym for LC2’s

Tuesday(11): LC1/LC210:00-12:00 Long distance run. Meet at Cougar Creek parking lot.

Wednesday(12): LC2 only 8:30-10:00 Ski striding intensity. Meet at Quarry Lake Parking Lot.

    Thursday(13): LC1/LC2 9:30-11:30 Classic Rollerski (LC1 & LC2) and strength (LC1 only). Meet at the teamroom. LC2 to finish at 11:00am.

“If you’re not gonna go all the way, why go at all?”
