The last week of summer training has arrived! With school starting next week, be sure to make the most of your long days out of the classroom to get in a solid week of training. Building endurance over the summer months is a key for success as an endurance athlete. As with previous years, we will not have team training the first week of school (Aug 29-Sep 4) and no team training on Labour Day (Sep 5). Fall team training will resume Sep 6. Typical fall team training will be:
The construction in the biathlon area will continue for many months. This week they will be knocking down the timing building, so lots more traffic and heavy equipment. Use caution in the parking lot and respect the closures.

Final workout of the summer- Point to point adventure run!
Younger athletes will run/hike ~16km, Older athletes will run/hike 27km. Discuss with your coach early in the week to determine your distance and sort out rides as it is a point to point run.Everyone will meet at 9am at the Vista Lake Trailhead on 93 South.
We will all run/hike up to Arnica Lake, then Twin Lakes. Here the 16km group will start down and finish at the Twin Lakes Trailhead (Near the junction of 93 S and HWY 1). Estimated finish time is 12:30.
The 27km group will continue up over Gibbon Pass, down to Shadow Lake, and exit Red Earth Creek Trailhead (On HWY 1). Estimated finish time is 2pm.This is a backcountry adventure run. You all need to have minimum 2L water, rain jacket, enough snacks/lunch to fuel every hour. Coaches will have first aid kits, radios for communication, the club inReach, bear spray.
