Last week of TA until the holidays.
Monday: Classic. They have chewed up all the ice so it is back to good skiing again. Wax: base binder covered with Rode multigrade purple. Apply a single thin layer of binder, cork into a well roughened base, cool then apply 4-6 layers of hard wax on top. The binder wax will keep the hard wax on in these conditions.
Tuesday: Last day to get the cheaper entry fee for the AB Youth Champs in March! Prices rise from $125 to $175 after this date. This is a super fun event for all kids 2001-2004 no matter their experience level, complete with racing including a relay where everyone dresses up in awesome costumes, staying all together in a camp environment, and even a dance! Thursday: Skating. Christmas scavenger hunt! Bust out your santa hats, reindeer antlers, throw on a tinsel scarf and get your festive on! Prize for best festive get-up (you need to be able to ski with your outfit). Also get your singing voice warmed up…. 😆 😆
Coming up: TA will take a break over the holidays but we will go for a ski in Kananaskis on Jan. 2nd. Check the forum on Jan. 1 for details and whre to meet.
Jan. 4: CNSC hosts the first Built for Speed race of the season! Come and join us for this super fun day of racing with a game and two events for all TA kids and abilities. There are two levels of categories for experienced racers and a developmental category for kids that have less than two years of skiing/racing experience or have only done one or two races in the past.
