To all the kids that raced this weekend great job! Those are tough courses for early in the season but there was lots of great skiing by all and some great hanging with friends after it was all over!
For those that raced this weekend , especially those that raced both races, if you are tired on Monday please take the day off on Monday to recover from the races!
Monday: Skating. After a big weekend for many of the kids and coaches we will do an easy one hour ski from 5-6pm. A headlamp is abosolutely ESSENTIAL as we will go for a ski out beyond the meadow on the unlit trails.
Thursday: Classic. Wax: Universal klister. If you have some guru green or cholo klister apply that first, freeze skis outside and then universal on top. It is a bit icy out there with the chinook so keeping the universal klister on the skis will be a challenge.
** A few people have talked to me about getting their child’s classic skis tested on the camber tester so we can mark an accurate wax pocket on their skis. I can test skis this week if you give them to me at a session. They must be completely clean of all kick wax.
Coming up: Early bird registration for the AB Youth Champs in Bragg Creek in early March closes on Dec. 15th. Price is $125 for the weekend before Dec. 15 th and $175 after that date(incl. accommodation, meals and race entries). Link here: https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=8033&lan=1
This event is super fun, we all stay at a camp for the weekend and there is three races over two days. It is for mini midgets and midget skiers (YOB 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001). Note correction to YOB only for 2004 and older, 2005s need to wait one more year! Here is a link to the race notice on the website: http://www.canmorenordic.com/2015-alberta-youth-cross-country-ski-championships/. Look at the race notice for all the details. This event if for all skill levels and is a super fun weekend with your TA buddies.
See you out there!
