Great racing at Sovereign. I’m happy everyone got to race at least once. Lots of great performances. Please make a short list of what you learned this weekend in ilog; also write down what you did well, be proud! Writing these things down makes it easy to go back and read again in 6 or 12 months from now.
Thanks to the coaches, wax techs and parents that helped out with the driving. we have such a great club.
We will take it easy for a few days now. This week is a recovery week for everyone. Try to get 9+ hours of sleep per night. We will build up the aerobic capacity in the next phase. We will explain the details at a training session this week.
Note: We will invite the T3’s to Wednesday session on some weeks so pay attention to the program.
Group workouts:
Tuesday (10): No group session. Check TP for your individual plan. T3’s should go for an easy 30min run after school.
Wednesday (11): LC & T3, 4:30-6:00pm. Z1 skate ski. Looks like it will be much warmer.
Thursday (12): LC & T3, 4:30-6:15pm. Come prepared for some classic skiing + mobility and strength in gym.
Saturday (14): LC & T3. We will classic ski in zone 1 the Cascade Fireroad in Banff and add the new Upper Bankhead connector. Be ready to go at the Minnewanka parking lot at 9:15am. Put on a Toko green basewax and Rode Multigrade Purple and a cover of Swix blue extra on top (carry Rode multigrade and cork in your pocket). Make you you cover to get lots of glide and not too much grip to practice efficient application of force in diagonal striding. Bring something to drink and a snack. We will ski for 2 hours, done at 11:15am. Bring dry clothes to change into at the end. Parents are welcome to join in – the more the merrier!
