Hello LC’s. Great skiing at Nipika!!! It was nice to ski on natural snow.

Good luck to everyone racing in Europe the next 2 weeks. I know that you will have a blast and learn tons. Soak it all in…

For those not going to Europe, do not despair, your turn will come one day. We will
do some good training for the next 2 weeks preparing for Camrose, BC Champs and the Nationals.

The World Junior/U23 Championships are also on this week. You can follow the Canadian prowess at http://www.cccski.com.

    NOTE:
AB Cup in Camrose. The Camrose races are on! It’s a thin snow cover, but it’s a go…

    First:
You need to register by Thursday at 23:59. https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=8447&lan=1&cartlevel=1

    The Plan:
Environment Canada is forecasting some nice temps for the weekend, but not so on Friday. We will not ski in Camrose on Friday (check info sent via email). The first race on Saturday is at 11am, so we have time to ski the course then. It’s about 4 hours to Camrose. We will meet in the Super 8 Hotel Lobby at 8:45pm for a meeting.
    • Saturday are mass start classic races
    • Sunday are interval start skate races
We will ask you to glide wax, scrape and brush your skis at home. You will need to pack your skis in your ski bag with socks on tips and tails so that the bases don’t rub. Be sure to clean, sand, and mark your kick zones clearly and make sure your name is on all your equipment. Check email for more details.

    Race details and distances: http://www.camroseskiclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/TheOleChase2014.pdf

Tuesday (3): Skating and strength in gym. Meet at Team room 4:30-6:30pm.

Wednesday (4): Skating again. 4:45-6:30pm. We will do some relays tonight.

Thursday (5): 4:30-5:45pm. Classic skiing. Shorter session due to weekend races. Looks like a base wax (Swix VG35 or other) covered by Rode purple will work. Bring an extra tube and cork in your pocket as it might not last 1.25 hrs.

    Weekend: AB Cup in Camrose.
