Matt DeCarufelKeymasterHello TTs,
Well done Saturday dressing for the weather and getting in a solid long ski! With temperatures forecasted to really drop for the week, that was most likely our last team ski for a couple of days, so way to brave the cold and make it a good day. Historically when temperatures really drop, we move sessions indoors, but with COVID restrictions, they will be moved to Zoom instead to participate from the safety of your home. Give yourself a space with at least 2M to move around (about the size of a yoga mat), and access to a computer to log into the Zoom workout. It will be aerobics/ body weight strength type workout led by your coaches. If you don’t have Zoom on your computer (parent’s computer) download it here: https://zoom.us/download
Looking farther down the calendar, we will not have team training on Family Day, February 15; enjoy your holiday together. Tuesday and Thursday (Biathlon) and Saturday are planned to be at the usual times. Hopefully a little Loppet style Time Trial Saturday the 20th 🙂
As you saw in the email from Alain last week, AB Cups are cancelled with possibly a final event here in Canmore at the end of March. Stay tuned. Wednesday Night “Local Competition Training Opportunity” may be able to kick off Feb 17 at the earliest. I will update as soon as we learn more.
Experience Canada Exchange with Chelsea Nordiq has been postponed 1 year. So for the 2021/2022 season we will plan to have the 2007, 2008, and 2009 athletes eligible for this fantastic opportunity. Details to come in the spring/summer.
Training this week:
Monday(8) Zoom @ Your Home
5:00-6:00 Everyone log on at the same time. Give yourself 2M of space to move around and get pumped up! Zoom link will be emailed on Monday to minimize zoom bombers.
Update: We will be on zoom today. The forecast is 10 colder than it was on Saturday at our training time.Tuesday(9) Zoom @ Your Home

POD 7: 2:30-4:00 Spain Flag
POD 8: 2:30-4:00 Portugal Flag
POD 9: 2:30-4:00 Netherlands Flag
Hint: the flags are in alphabetical orderWe will aim for the heat of the day for a little rip around the nordic centre. If you have time, I would recommend waxing your skis with LF4 or CH4 or any cold green wax you have. It will make the ski much more fun being able to glide.
Update: It is slowly, but steadily warming, so the session is on! See you at your flag.
As with our usual Saturday, we will need some parent help to keep our numbers under 10. Sign up here:
