Hello LCs,
The holiday break is a very important time for you as a nordic racer to get in some good, quality volume training. This is one of the key elements that will help you carry your fitness into the next period of racing and through the end of the season.
We will be skiing at venues other than the nordic centre for 3 of the days over the break (conditions permitting, as always, please check before leaving for the session). Have a look and organize your rides early so we can all be there and have some fun skiing all the great trails outside of the nordic centre. Remember to pack a bar for the long training sessions, a big lunch for after, and a change of clothes when you have to drive more than 10 min to get home.
Training:
Tuesday(27) 10:00-1:00 Classic Distance at Lake Louise. Meet at Moraine Lake Road.
Thursday(29) 9:00-10:30 Skate Time Trial at the Nordic Centre. Meet at the Teamroom.
4:30-5:30 Strength, meet in the Gym.
Friday(30) 11:30-1:00 Holiday Relays! Meet at the Sawdust Pile at NOON. Skating. Bring your holiday cheer
Saturday(31) 10:00-1:00 Classic Distance at Peter Lougheed. Meet at the Elk Pass Parking Lot.
Tuesday(3) 10:00-12:30 Strength first with the cold temperatures, then skate skiing. Meet at the teamroom to drop off skis, then head to the gym.
Wednesday(4) 1:00-4:00 Combo distance at the Nordic Centre. Bring both skate and classic gear. Meet at the teamroom. It got quite cold last night, but is supposed to warm up, so by delaying our start a few hours, we can get in a good quality ski session in the warmest part of the day.
Thursday(5) 10:00-11:30 Classic Intensity. Meet at the teamroom.
Saturday(7) 11:00-2:00 Classic Distance at Cascade Fire Road. Meet in the parking lot. Delayed start to allow it to warm up! Dress warm and don’t forget your change of clothes for the car afterwards
