    Hello,

Hopefully Kimberly was a fun race weekend for you.  Take Monday off to recover.  If you didn’t race we encourage you to get out and ski on your own.

This weekend is the Alberta Cup in Canmore.  Remember that registration closes on the 15th.  We will update the forum with waxing info, and race details later in the week.

    Weekly Schedule:

    Mon 1/14 – No session

Wed 1/16 5-6:30pm – CLASSIC.  Complete classic race prep practice with mock race.  Please wear a watch with a stopwatch function.  Meet in teamroom.  We will conclude practice by handing out prizes from the T-log challenge!  Please read the following details carefully so we can have a successful session:

    • WAX: Violet Multigrade.  Please wax your skis with 3-4 layers only!!  (OR 1-2 LESS layers than you usually use.)  The goal here is to force the athletes to need a touch-up so we can practice the entire race procedure.
    • Bring warm-up skis.  Your warm-up skis can be skate (same binding) if you only own one pair of classic skis.  Have your warm-up skis waxed and ready to ski (if using CL).
    • Please wear your race suit.  We want to make this as replicative of a race day as possible, so we want you to take off your warm-ups before our mock race as practice.
    • Please review the warm-up procedure document at home and make sure you understand all the parts.
    • Looking for two parents to help with mock touch-ups.  Please email Hilary.  You don’t need to be an expert, just able to apply a layer of wax.

Fri 6-6:15pm – Please plan to drop off your CLASSIC race skis to the team room during this time.

Sat/Sun – Alberta Cup.  Details to follow.
