Great racing out there today team!  It is exciting to have BC, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba all here in Alberta racing hard out there. Every time you put on a bib it is an opportunity to learn from good things you execute and what you can improve for your next day.  Take a few moments to think about these to continue your progression as an athlete.

    Saturday Sprint Race Details:

Submit your COVID assessment by 7am.  Good work team getting all those in today. You will receive your email at 5am (specific link in that email each day). Be sure to get it submitted by 7am to help the race office verify bibs.

Arrive at the Canmore Nordic Tent at 8:50am with your race skis.  We coaches will be out early to test wax and apply a fresh layer on your skis before your qualifier starts. You will collect your bib at the tent as well. All TTs will warm up together starting at 9:10am.

    Schedule for tomorrow:

U12 to Open category will be racing a Qualifier starting at 9am (check zone 4 for your start time).  This will count for your points and your placement in the bracket.  Give it 100% out there!!! 15 second interval starts.

After the qualifier (contrary to the race notice) –>NO KNOCKOUT SPRINT

All those racing the same distance will be put together for heats #1 and #2.

    1200m Open+U20 Men+Women will be combined
    800m U18+U16 Boys+Girls will be combined
    500m U14 Boys+Girls will be combined
    250m U12 Boys+Girls will be combined

Round 3 will be just your category to determine final positoin (U14 Boys, U14 Girls, U16 Boys…) based on how you have progressed through the bracket. Top 2 move up, Middle 2 move across, bottom 2 move down.

    Ladder Bracket Progression:

Heats of 6 will run every minute.  That will happen VERY fast.

Heat order will be slowest to fastest based on qualifier.

It will be a jam packed time for heats!  All heats will be posted online.  Coaches will try to help you track your time, but you can look on your phone to keep track as well and listen at the start area.

It will be busy, but a great opportunity to work on racing in heats. Leave it all out there!  These courses have some good turns and gradual climbs, fun to work on your tactics.

Keep your mask in your warm jacket (puffy) pocket to wear between heats (mask and jacket).  It will be hard to distance in the stadium, so mask up, spread out, and jog around between heats.

    Go Team!
