    Greetings T1/2s

    here is our upcoming week

Thursday Jan 9 – strength workout in bwtc 445-530 followed by skate skiing

Sat Jan 11 – Built for Speed (B4S) event #1 – Confederation Park Golf Course, Calgary – athlete drop off at golf course day lodge off of 19st NW. Parking is at Canmore Park a couple of blocks away. There is no parking at golf course parking lot or on the residential street across from the golf course parking lot. I will need a couple of parent helpers to wax skis – I will bring a couple of forms and benches from our club as well as grip wax and corks etc. We will ask you to do the glide waxing at home on friday – wax recommendation will be sent later in the week.

    arrival time- 930
    classic mass start – 11am
classic bumps and jumps race – 30 minutes after completion of mass start
classic relay – 30 minutes after completion of bumps and jumps
    approx finish time – 3pm

    what to bring
    – classic gear
    – 2L of water/water belt
    – bag lunch
    – chair to sit on – one that you would use at a campground would work great – this is so that we can sit outside if it is a nice day
    – change of clothes for the end of the day
    – please note there are only portapotty toilets available this time of year at confederation park

to register – https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=6101&lan=1&cartlevel=1 registration closes Thursday Jan 9, 11:59pm These are inexpensive races – $10 at the Calgary event hosted by Foothills.

information about the series – this event series replaces the bow corridor regional race series and focuses on earning team points towards season aggregate banners awarded to participating clubs. The more kids we have participating, the more points we earn towards the club banner awarded at the end of the season. B4S has more than one race on a race day – the goal is to create something a little different than what kids experience at other races – giving kids multiple race experiences on a day.

    Other B4S events include
    Okotoks – Jan 25
    Bragg Creek – Feb 14
    Canmore – Mar 9

wax recommendations for our Jan 11 event will be emailed/shared on thursday.

We hope everyone can make it to this fun event.
