Thanks to all those families who made the hike to Salmon Arm for an incredible weekend of racing and team development this weekend. Super duper big thanks to Wendy for sourcing out a great hotel and to Allison for providing leadership and helping to set us up for success. Thanks to the early morning wax crew and thanks to every parent who helped all the children feel like a million bucks by cheering their hearts out. We had a lot of fun with the dress up relays and if there had been a spirit award it would have gone to Canmore Nordic parents and kids! Kudo’s to the kids who braved the kings court and raced to the bitter end. There were some epic crashes and some photo finishes. Great job!

And lets not forget the star performance from the only non xc racer coach in the crowd! Well done Coach Andrea aka the skating octopus.

After many hours of fun and crazy driving we are taking tomorrow off. If you did not race this weekend be sure to drag your parents out for a nice ski tomorrow and show them all the excellent technique you have learned this season.

Our team room has been turned over to the Canadian Biathlon team for the upcoming IBU and I’m not sure we will even have access to the lower parking lot. Lets meet in the main stadium at 5:00 ready to go. Don’t forget drink belt and headlamp as all the extra’s are packed away.

Please take a second to sign up on the google doc if you are available to help out tonight. Our plan is to leave the stadium, do some drills on the trails as we go for a long ski. I really like having the tail gunners to keep the group together and help motivate the skiers at the back, not to mention the safety issue. If you are able to sign up early I will forward you the lesson plan and assign you to a group so it’s not so chaotic at the start of the lesson. Thanks
