I hope that everyone had fun at the Racing Rocks on Saturday. Here’s the plan for this week:

NIPIKA LOPPET on Jan 31st, updated Wednesday (28) at 9am: It hasn’t been as warm at Nipika than Canmore. The race is a go. I was told the trails are in good shape. Please register at: https://zone4.ca/onlinereg.asp?id=7020 by 23:59 tonight (Wed). Enter your regular category. Bantam’s in BC are the mini-midgets in Alberta. Note that the Saturday event is classic.

Category, Year Born, Distance, Start Time
    Atom Boys/Girls: 2009, 2008, 2007, 1km, 11:05am start time
    Pee Wee Boys/Girls: 2006, 2005, 1km, 11:05am
    Bantam Boys/Girls: 2004, 2003, 3km, 11:10am
    Midget Boys/Girls: 2002, 2001, 3km, 11:10am
    Juvenile Boys/Girls: 2000, 1999, 7.5km, 11:15am
    Junior Boys/Girls: 1998, 1997, 7.5km, 11:15am
    Junior Women: 1996, 1995, 7.5km, 11:15am
    Junior Men: 1996,1995, 15km, 11:30am
    Open Men/Women Rec: 15km, 11:30am

Please arrive Nipika 1.5 hrs before your start. Count on a 2 hour drive. We will circulate the waxing plan on Thursday evening or Friday morning via email. You can start with the glide now by applying, scraping and brushing Swix LF4.

Monday (26): Meet at team room with the usual gear (including head lamp). 5:00-6:30pm. You will skate and practice downhills.

Wednesday (28): Meet at the team room. 5:00-6:30pm. You will start the workout with a tour of the CNC snow making complex. You will then classic ski. Swix universal klister with 1/3 of Rode Rossa should work well. Register for Nipika Loppet by tonight on zone4 (or not if we decide not to go).

Saturday (31): Nipika Loppet. See above. Race details here (note that we are only doing the Saturday event): http://www.nipika.com/the-nipika-toby-creek-nordic-loppet-weekend.

“Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”
