Hope you all have enjoyed your holidays away, and a happy new year! Get ready to return to training this week, we’ve got a pretty full load with an extra session to prepare for AB Cup 3/4 over the weekend.
Housekeeping
NEW: Classic ski drop off for AB Cup 3: Please bring your classic skis at the start of our race prep session, cleaned and brushed. Base wax PS6. They will be taken to the race venue for you on Saturday morning. More information to follow on U14 AB Cup 3/4 Forum Post.

2. The race sign up sheet still has a few deadlines coming up, take a look at your calendar this week to indicate if you’ll be a yes or a no for the races! Here’s the link.

Monday (6) Classic Ski @ CNC
5:00-6:30. As we’re in real winter now, we’ll meet in the stadium from now on to get going on our practice at 5:00. Remember, starting at 5:00 means skis and poles on at 5:00… First session back in for the holidays, we’ll take it easy and bring us to some striding focused work.Tuesday (7) Classic Ski @ CNC
5:00-6:30. Meet at the stadium. Time to get ready for the races! Prepare for a Kings Court sprint at the start, with a qualifier and 2-3 random heats!Thursday (9) Biathlon
4:45-6:15. Biathlon. What does our shooting look like when we speed things up a bit..? Well we might find out tonight!As promised last month, we have an extra session to make up for our lost one early season. We’re doing a second round of SCATT work in the Nordiq Canada offices on Monday Jan. 13 to introduce some more concepts and build off our work in October. These will be 30min 1 on 1 sessions with either myself or Caitlin. Sign up for your spot here.
Friday (10) Skate Race Prep @ CNC
5:00-6:00. Meet outside the team room. A shorter extra session for you all before heading down to Calgary for the weekend. There won’t be any course to scope out, but we’ll have a chance to talk about the formats more closely and how we prepare for our races more broadly.
