I am super excited to see you all out there tomorrow. I’m hoping you had an incredible holiday and a wonderful Christmas/New Year break with lots of time on your skis and food in your bellies. We are full on into it this week with some race preparation for the Built 4 Speed on Saturday!

Built 4 Speed is a race with a focus on fun and participation. It is a perfect match for every member of our group and great way to spend a warm sunny Saturday! A grassroots race such as this really relies on the support of our family volunteers so I ask you to sign up for a position on the doodle sign up and help out. The positions are all simple and straight forward all the experience you require is a big smile and a hearty laugh.

    Monday 4th: 5 – 6:30pm @CNC
Classic technique – I’m hoping the weather heats up so I will post the wax recommendation tomorrow. SWIX blue extra. Be sure to put on at least 3 layers. Hat, head lamp and drink belt essential.

    Thursday 5-6:30 Skate technique
To prepare for Saturday’s downhill race we’ll hone our skills on some downhills working on staying low, being agile and riding a fast ski. This will be coupled with some uphill cornering. Hat,head lamp and drink belt!

Built 4 Speed!! Register in the CNSC team room before heading out to the Mine Meadow for the events. Put your apron on and get baking; sweet or savory, cookies or muffins are the entry fee! I have sent out info in the previous weeks email. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me. Details on the event flier posted on the Forum. Race notice will be posted to the website on Monday!

This is our only TA away race organized for our whole group for this season. The race notice sounds like it is going to be a perfect opportunity for us to show our stuff in another friendly race format.
Please don’t forget to book your hotel room. A great deal of fun for the kids is going on a big sleepover party with all their friends and I know it’s going to be a busy weekend in Salmon Arm so we dont want anyone to be disapointed or have to deal with some FOMO by staying at another hotel.
