    Hello U14s,

Registration is still open for the Canada Day Run. This is great training getting out and pushing yourself in a running race. The 3km and 5km are both great options for your age.  Pick whichever distance you feel you can really push yourself.  Parents this can be great fun to get out and challenge yourself too.  Register here by June 29. If you are not racing, we still need volunteers (flaggers especially) to pull of this amazing event that supports the club. Sign up for volunteer positions here.

The plan for Summer training for the U14-2 athletes will be Monday afternoon from 4:00-5:30.  This was the time used last year and it worked quite well for those athletes.  I will keep sessions local here in town, so typically athletes will be able to ride your bikes to the start of sessions if parents are still at work.

    Training this week:

Monday(27) Run and Strength @ Riverside Park
5:00-6:30 We will focus on running technique, do a number of sprints to get the legs moving fast, and mix in some upperbody strength training.  Meet right in the middle of the park.

Tuesday(28) STUR Replacement @ Holiday Inn
4:45-5:45 We will start our group warm up right at 4:45 with the first U14 starter at 5:15.  You will all jog back down to the start of the course for a cool down to be picked up at 5:45.  Please let Matt know if you will not be at the session and we can adjust the start list.  Draft Start List HERE.

Refresher of the course 1km long with 104M of climbing:

Friday(1) Canada Day Run!  Hopefully you all can make it for this fun event.  Not official team training, but coaches will be out cheering you on and there to debrief after your race.  You can warmup with your teammates following the same routine we practiced for the STUR.

“Be your biggest competitor – Challenge yourself to be better than you were yesterday.”
