    Hello LCs,

Great to see so many of you out at training last week! Now is the time to get in that quality base training, so let’s keep the momentum up. In addition to our Tuesday, Wednesday sessions, CNSC will be offering some extra team training sessions in June. Please note the extra sessions this week.

Canada Day is just around the corner, so that means it is about time to register for the Canada Day run. Early bird registration ends June 23.

    Training for this week:

Tuesday(9): 4:45-6:15 Meet at the team room
TT and LC1– Beep test followed by Classic Roller skiing. This is a great test that we coaches use to find your max heart rate and personalize your training zones. Bring your heart rate monitor. Also, it is time to dust off the roller skis. Remember: roller skis, boots, poles (with roller ski tips), and helmet.
    LC2– Classic Roller ski only.

Wednesday(10): 4:45-6:15 Run, Games, and Strength. Meet at the team room.

Friday(12): LC2s ONLY– Threshold Test. Meet at LGMS track at 3pm

Saturday(13): TT, LC1, LC2– Road Bike Highwood Pass. The pass is closed to cars until June 15 so this is a great chance to get out and ride on the road with no vehicle traffic. Meet at the gate at 10am. You can park in King Creek picnic area or on the side of HWY 40. We will finish riding at 1pm. Be sure to pack a lunch for after and snacks/bars for during the ride.
It is forecasted to be between 0 and 10 degrees tomorrow while we are riding, so be sure to bring some extra clothes for riding down the pass. Packable wind breaker jacket, dry base layer, full finger gloves, tights/bike leggings.

You miss 100% the shots you don’t take. –Wayne Gretzky
