Hi T1s and T2s
I cant believe, but here we are approaching the last two weeks of the season. We have some special events coming up in the next two weeks and so please read on!
Well done to our team’s skiers who competed in this past weekend’s shark races – incredible effort, great technical skiing – I had a number of coaches from other clubs comment on the level of proficiency in double poling, or offsetting -etc – well done!
Tuesday, Mar 12 – special guest coach – Phil Widmer, CNSC athlete who has recently returned from competing in the World Championships! lets meet at 5-630pm – team room – classic skiing – recommend universal klister – its best if you can apply the klister on monday evening and put your skis outside so that the klister can harden – we may cover it with something on tuesday if conditions change.
Thursday Mar 14 – skating – 5-630pm – we’ll focus on some downhill technique in prep for the RMSC skate and downhill races on Sunday March 17. Pls register for the rocky mtn ski challenge – this is our ski club’s big yearly participation event and we would like all of our club’s skiers to participate – registration at https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=4280&lan=1&cartlevel=1
Sunday, Mar 17 – RMSC – Canmore Nordic Centre – look for details about ski prep and event info a bit later in the week. T2s returning from Whitehorse – register if you are up for it
Tuesday, Mar 19 – Last scheduled practice – 5pm — here is a schedule for the practice
5pm – ski
545pm – pizza party in bwtc – awards
615pm – information meeting for 2013-14 Sevec exchange – we are in the early stages of planning for this exchange – Carol has graciously offered to be the lead organizer. The exchange is aimed at kids who will be T2s during 2013-14 season (this year’s T1s) – the plan is to potentially do an exchange with Chelsea/Skinouk clubs again where chelsea/skinouk skiers would be in canmore in december and we would go to gatineau in february. Parents please plan to attend this important meeting!cheers
