    Sprint relay U12
Canmore will be hosting the first Alberta Cup Sprint relay for the U12. It is going to be epic and fun. There will be two people on each team. The coaches will be assembling the teams with the intention of creating equal teams with a mix of abilities so that each team can compete with each other. There will be a morning individual qualifying which will count for Alberta Cup Points, followed by early afternoon team sprints. Please register your U12 by December 8 if you wish to participate in the team sprint. Costumes and/or glitter? Why not! The U10 will be doing head to head skate sprints. Equally as riveting!

    How a race day looks
Racing for Track Attack is highly encourage and a great opportunity to try our best with a bunch of fun kids. The program is designed to for maximum fun and to build independence in the athletes. Canmore Nordic is responsible for taking the kids on a warm up and bringing them the start line. Parents, please cheer loudly and meet your kids at the finish line.

Details for the race weekend (arrival time and start times) will be posted on the forum the night before each race after the coaches meeting. Race times are posted around 8 pm. Race start lists will be posted on Zone4.ca. The glide wax recommendation will be posted on the forum on Thursday using the most accurate weather forecast for the weekend. Glide waxing is not required but if you are feeling inspired, go for it. If you are feeling overwhelmed, fear not. Glide waxing will not affect racing outcomes at the Track Attack age and is not required. For the classic race, the club will apply grip wax. Instruction for when to drop off classic skis (glide waxed and clean kick zones by you) to the team room for grip waxing by our wax team. There are no awards for U10. High five’s all around!
