    Hello team,

Welcome to your rest week. The focus now is to rest up before a few weekends of local racing, both biathlon and XC. The deadline to put your name down on the club race sign up is this Saturday; Z4 registration closes shortly thereafter.

Now is also a good time to have some blood work done before the season starts in earnest. These tests ensure you’re healthy and ready to take on the physical load of back-to-back race weekends. Typical parameters to test include: WBC Count, RBC Count, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, Platelet Count, Neutrophils, Eosinophils, Basophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Testosterone, TIBC, Iron, and Ferritin. If your doctor requires a note from the club to perform the tests please let Stu or Matt know and we can provide you with one. Share your results with your coach so that we can tailor your training and give nutritional advice where necessary.

Please note that for the rest of the winter we will cancel Monday training whenever it follows a race weekend, and we will offer a training session on Fridays before races whenever possible. For the first few weeks of racing this effectively means we shift Monday training to Friday.
