Hi everyone,
Tomorrow we start back with the whole TA gang on snow. Looking forward to seeing all the Intros again!
Here is how the week looks:
Bring a headlamp to all sessions because the lit loop is not available for skiing yet.
Trail passes: skiing is free after 5pm but all kids need a trail pass to ski on the weekends and during Christmas holidays etc. during the day. We will also have occasional sessions on Saturday. All TA kids are encouraged to get a season’s pass as we are big users of the facilities at the Nordic Center and take advantage of amazing grooming, night lit trails, and a well maintained ski terrain park.
Parent helpers: 2 required for each session. Sign up here: http://www.docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArY1ClpefZtXdEM4dVFoSnE4SGxwQ0pxOHREamxpc3c#gid=0
This sheet also has a “parent’s corner” for exchange of information between parents.
Monday – Classic skiing, 5-6:30pm (Note location will always be CNC unless otherwise stated).
With the warm weather , we will not be wasting any time getting into it on the waxing front: we will be on klister tomorrow. You need to bring your child’s skis waxed for the session. If you need help to apply klister bring your child’s skis and your klister to the team room at 4:45pm (note we will not be doing this every time, for future sessions there will be an expectation that parents will be able to wax their child’s skis) . There is no time to apply wax once the session has started. Please don’t wax your child’s skis with soft red or yellow hard wax, IT WILL NOT WORK. Only klister works on transformed wet snow.
wax: universal klister (e.g.Swix or Start)
Wednesday: 7:30-8:30pm Free wax clinic for parents, at the team room. Sign up here: http://doodle.com/8uubw9vpcpttur7b
Thursday: skating, bring a headlamp and a water bottle
Friday- Sunday: LL camp for LT2s that are signed up. More details will be sent out to you including schedule and equipment list.
Wax update: please put 4 layers of Rode multigrade on your classic skis for the camp this weekend
Looking forward to seeing you all on snow tomorrow!
