    Hello Biathletes

Just 3 weeks until the first races of the season! Many of you were moving very well last week and have built up some great fitness over the summer and fall. Keep listening to your bodies and get the rest you need, ideally 9 hours of sleep a night.

The weather is what it is, and it is tough to say when the snow will come. So check the forum for updates about training as it may change depending on what is happening out side. Regardless of when the snow comes, we can always continue to build fitness with running, biking, and strength.

Starting this week until the end of February you must bring your headlamp to any outdoor training session. This is for your and your teammates’ safety. Put it in your drink belt with fresh batteries and bring it.

This week we are bringing back an old Canmore Nordic favorite: The home push up challenge! Pick 3 days this week to complete the daily push up challenge (ie: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday). The challenge is to do the listed number of push ups by the end of the day. Two options based on your strength level:
    Option 1: Day 1- 20 push ups, Day 2- 35 push ups, Day 3- 50 push ups
    Option 2: Day 1- 50 push ups, Day 2- 75 push ups, Day 3- 100 push ups

    Training this week:

Monday (7): 4:30-6:00 Run Combo with Geret

Tuesday (8): 4:45-6:30 Sport Nutrition Workshop with Kelly Anne Erdman from the National Sports Institute. This is a great session for all LCs. Come with a note book and pencil and be ready for some interaction to learn about this key element of being an athlete. Meet at the Bill Warren Training Center.

Wednesday (9): 4:30-6:00 Running intensity. Meet at the teamroom.

Thursday (10): 4:30-6:30 Pressure Shooting with Skate Skiing + Strength

Saturday (12): No Team Practice, Individual practice will be on Training Peaks. Enjoy your long weekend.
