Wax Clinic’s. If you sign up, show up!
Basic wax equipment for the season. You will need an iron, a cork, a glide wax scraper putty knife to pull wax and wax remover. We are pretty lucky at the nordic centre and generally you can make it through the season with only the following kick waxes. Rode base binder, Rode multigrade, Rode violet, swix blue extra and universal klister. The glide wax we use is solda performance red and you can buy that directly from Alain in the team room, cash or cheque.
This week we are on snow but please check back as conditions may change.
Monday: skate ski on FT. 5:00-6:30 Head lamps are mandatory. Please don’t forget or we will have some sad kids sitting in the team room all practice. It’s a good habit just to leave them in their water belts.
I would like to start marking the kids wax pockets on their classic skis. Could I have all the classic skis to the team room on Monday at 5pm. Be sure you have your child’s name and weight in kg marked on each ski. Some of them will be ready to take home after practice but not all. I will post a list at 6:30. The rest can be picked up Wednesday between 4:30 and 6:30
Thursday: classic ski on FT. 5-6:30.
I have finished testing all the skis that were dropped off on Monday. If you did not pick them up last night you can come to the team room a bit early tonight and apply your kick wax then. There are a few notes on some of the skis please check with me if would like an explanation. If you were not able to get your skis up to be tested and would still like them done I can do a few pairs next Monday after practice. Please be sure to remove all the kick wax and glide wax before handing them to me. They need to be super clean to get an accurate reading. Don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions.
Wax for tonight with rode multigrade. Make sure you have at least 4 layers and if I marked your ski as stiff you will need more layers.
Headlamps and hats essential for tonight’s session
LT2’s are heading to Lake Louise camp . Please be sure you have read the document from Allison. Remember 3$ for swimmming, healthy snacks or bars for your child to eat after training, a dozen muffins or bread as per Wendy’s email.
