    Hello LCs,

Daylight savings time has come to an end, but that won’t stop you all from getting in your quality training. But since the sun is going down at 5:15, that means we will be finishing in the dark from now until February! So dig out your headlamp, put in some fresh batteries, and bring it to EVERY training session.

If you have new skis this year, or have grown since last year, please bring in your classic race skis to be flex tested. Put a piece of tape on each CLEAN (scraped, brushed, kickwax free, and old lines removed) pair with your name and weight as this is essential for testing.

    Training this week:

Tuesday(3) 4:30-6:15 Skate skiing on Frozen Thunder– speed(LC1)/ intensity(LC2+WinSport). Meet at the teamroom. We will have an option to end at 5:45 if you think you need the extra time to get to Radical Reels.

Wednesday(4) 4:30-6:30 Combo distance day: Skate ski on Frozen thunder followed by running.

Thursday(5) 4:30-6:30 Classic ski on Frozen thunder and Strength. Swix Universal is still the wax of choice out there.

Saturday(7) 10:45-1:30 XC Running Race in Okotoks.
In place of the Confederation Park Relays, we will be joining the Calgary Road Runners for a 8km cross country race in Okotoks. This is a great chance to get in some good race pace training. The race information is attached. In summary:
Venue: Okotoks Recreation Complex , 99 Okotoks Drive, Okotoks Alberta
Registration: opens at 10:45. $6 for students, $12 for others, Cash or Cheque
    Race start: Noon
Social/Food: Hot soup, rolls and beverages will be served. Bring a dessert and your own mug, bowl & spoon to reduce waste.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing. -Pele
