    Hello,

Great work over the past 2 weeks making the most of our time on Frozen Thunder. Lots of great work out there and some great training gains have been made. With all that quality training, we want to be sure to give you some time to digest it all. So this week is a little lighter than usual to give you time to make those physiological adaptations. Make the most of your time and get some extra sleep this week/ holiday weekend.

With the time change, it will be dark for evening training. Bring your headlamp to every outdoor training session. This is for your own safety as well as the others around you.

    Training this week:

    Monday(5) 6:30-7:45 LC+ Strength in the Gym

Tuesday(6) No Team Training- Adaptation Day

Wednesday(7) 4:30-6:00 LC/LC+ Skate Intensity on Frozen Thunder

Thursday(8) 4:30-6:30 LC/LC+ Short Run and Strength. Meet at the BWTC ready to be outside for 30 min.

Friday (9): This is the last day for the biathlon national team trials. We have 6 team R.A.D athletes racing. It’s a modified relay format, women will start at 10am and the men at 11am. It would be great to come up and watch the races – bringing your best cheers. Right after the race, you can suit up and do 1.5hrs of Z2 skating. Some of you have individual meetings with Alain. Note that it’s really cold with the snow being made and the wind. It feels like -20, so bring a lot of clothes to watch and ski.

Saturday(10): Classic ski at Moraine lake road in Lake Louise. Don’t use your best skis; there’s no rocks but you could be hitting the road occasionally. Put on 3 layers of Rode multigrade purple covered by 1 layer of Swix blue extra. Leave town at the latest 8am. We will start skiing at 9am from the parking lot. We will ski 2.5 hours. Remember the 20 minute rule!

Focusing on the process will always lead to the result, but only focusing on the result can have too many options.
