Yay for snow! Hopefully you have all been reading the updates and overviews on ski preparation because we are going to start skiing more often now!! The days are getting shorter and we will now start in the light and finish in the dark so ALL skiers MUST have a headlamp for Monday and Wednesday workouts. No headlamp, no joining in the workout when it’s dark.

    Monday 6th 5 – 6:30pm: @ LGMS
It may have snowed but we can still work on our beach muscles and fast feet 🙂 Speed ladders, circuit strength and games with special guests Annika Hicks (long time Canmmore Nordic member) and Antoine Hebert of the AWCA. You’ll need to dress warm, bring a drink belt and head lamp!!

    Wednesday 8th 5 – 6:30pm: @ CNC

First classic ski of the year! Yay! Today we’ll carry over some of our work on rollerskis to work on some mass start practice, technique transitions and no pole striding. Patrick Stewert-Jones from AWCA will be joining us to share his love of classic skiing! Please make sure you have scraped and brushed your classic skis, cleaned any wax from last year off and sanded the kick zone ready to apply some kick wax.
Wax recommendation: Rodi Multigrade. At least 3 layers, but add more as needed for the stiffness of your skis. Drink belts and headlamps still needed.
**Please note: the Club does not supply wax to athletes for training so all skiers should apply the recommended wax to their skis and have a stick or two in their drink belts in case they have to change wax or apply more!

    Saturday 11th 1 – 3:30pm: @ Sulphar Mtn, Banff

Ski walking up Sulphar Mountain with a fun gondola ride down, don’t forget your ski striding poles! Meet at the start of the hiking trail at the base of the mountain at 12:50pm ready for 1pm departure. All skiers should have a small backpack with water, snacks, and a warm jacket & toque for when we get to the top. Parents & siblings welcome (no dogs on the gondola down). The 2.5 hours is the approx time taken to hike up, have a snack at the top and ride the gondola down, parents and skiers can stay longer at the top if they wish. Pick up is at the gondola station at the bottom and may vary depending on how busy the gondola is.
**Please note: It is Remembrance Day so please email Matt or Allison if you are not planning to attend the workout.

DON’T FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR A WAX CLINIC TO REFRESH YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR LEARN A FEW NEW THINGS ABOUT HOW TO PREPARE A SKI FOR RACING (AND TRAINING)

It’s ok to care about outcomes but focusing on the process to achieve the goal is what will lead us to success!
