Time to get some wax into your skis!
Now that you have blown the dust of your skis and we are skiing weekly it’s a good time to give your skis a little TLC. If you did not summer wax your skis please consider putting some wax into them by giving them a wax-scrape-brush at least twice! The Club has blocks of Solda Performance Red available for purchase (Price TBD). Please ask Allison or Matt if you need a block!

Not feeling 100%? Please stay home!
With the air getting colder and cold and flu season upon us please do not send your child to training if they are not 100%. XC skiing and biathlon demand a lot from the respiratory and cardiovascular system so trying to ski with a sore throat or chest cold is not much fun. Best to rest up until they are 100% so the illness does not stick around for longer than it needs to.

    Things to look out for:
*Hot box sessions – will be organized for later in November. For old skis needing a freshen up or new skis that need a few layers to help keep moisture in the base with the abrasive artificial snow we ski on in Canmore!
*Parent wax clinics – look out for the post with the link to a Doodle sign up. Clinics offered will be Skate and Classic beginner and Skate and classic advanced.
*Ways to help support your child with their athletic success, check out the True Sport resource page, including an article on the importance of letting your kids fail in sport.

    * CCC Development Level Racing License for Younger Skiers
Skiers born in “2003 and after” can now purchase a CCC Development License for the 2017-18 season. The Development License will feature the same benefits as a regular license holder including preferred seeding in races, inclusion of results on the Canada Points list and access to a special annual discount to Ski Trax magazine. With the inclusion of the Development License CCC will be able to more accurately track the development of young skiers in the Training 2 Train and above levels of the Competition Model. Racers competing at this level will also benefit by having applicable race results placed in the Canada Points List for reference when race category seeds are determined by points.

License is $25. Club official: Jim Hendry, Coach: Alain Parent, NCCP Level 4, Coach #148789
*Race Season is just around the corner and being a big club we need to know how many people are traveling to races so we can plan. Please update your race choices on the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GagisLYTFC_ISMQjtWHwPmlTVc3bT0-cCIrlfmIpYpE/edit#gid=0
