Great work to all skiers completing our first full month of training. You’re all making great progress and doing a great job of balancing other sports, homework and skiing 8)

    Monday 31st 4:30 – 6pm: @ CNC
Tonight we will start our workout early to allow plenty of time for Trick or Treating. Dress up in any costume or if you’re game, rockstar is the theme, for a classic rollerski skills circuit. Please make sure you can ski in your costume! Tonight we’ll be joined by guest coach Simon Chambers-Crease from Team R.A.D. 😆 You’ll need you’re helmet and drink belt.

    Wednesday 2nd 5 -6:30pm: @ CNC
Combination workout of running and skiing. We will start with a skills circuit then head on to Frozen Thunder for an easy skate ski an work on some offset technique. You’ll need all your ski gear plus sneakers and a drink belt. Guest coaches tonight will be AWCA athletes Jack Carlyle and Annika Hicks along with National team member Maya MacIsaac-Jones.

    Saturday 5th 10 – 12-12:30pm
With the weather continuing to heat up this week we will head back out on the trails for a hike with poles. We will head up Sulphar Mountain and check out the new building at the top! We will take the Gondola back down, it should be free! Meet at 9:55am at the trail head near the Upper Hot Springs parking lot off Mountain Ave in Banff. Although the current forecast is for warm weather it will be colder at the top so please bring a small pack, or share a small pack with a buddy, that you can pack a few layers, some water and snacks in. Don’t forget your ski striding poles 😛 approx 2 – 2.5 hrs. This will be our family workout for the month so parents and siblings welcome.
*Please have a change of underlayer and socks/shoes in the car to change in to after the workout.

**Please note that next week starts the period of compulsory headlamps at after school workouts. Please find your head lamp and make sure that it actually works before Monday 7th’s workout. 8)

    Wax Clinics
The annual round of wax clinics is about to start. There are many levels and dates available so please consider signing up. If your child is new to Train to Train it would be a great idea to attend since they will race more often and care and preparation of skis is important. I will run a separate clinic for the skiers.
