Hello Team, great job on the run on Saturday. It’s great to do some long workout in running/hiking once in a while; it’s a great leg strength workout.
A few key things this week:
– I need to know if you are doing the xc running provincials on Saturday or not. If you are not, then register in the Spray Drag for that same day (via zone4). It’s a 5km for all juniors. Please email me your plans.
– We would like to try a pre ski swap event this week. This means that the older athletes in the club will bring their race skis that don’t fit this Thursday (team room) and we will try to match them to a younger athlete by next Wednesday. Race skis only please!Also, we will have an athlete/parent meeting Postponed until Wednesday October 24th at 1800
Frozen Thunder: It costs $10 to ski on Frozen Thunder during the day. Free after 5pm. Since it’s warm now, we will take advantage of on-snow skiing the next 2 weeks in case it all disappears. We will ski 2-3 times a week now.
Team training for this week:
Tuesday (16): 1630-1815, team room. Z1 run + strength in gym.
Wednesday (17): 1630-1800, Frozen Thunder skate ski. Z1 & Z3 & speed. Register for Spray Drag race today and update iLog in evening please.
Thursday (18): 1630-1830. Frozen Thunder classic ski + run after. I suggest an aggressive sanding of the wax pocket + universal klister (Start or Swix) mixed with Swix or Rode red (half of each). Bring race skis that don’t fit anymore to the team room. Make sure your name is on there and perhaps a short description on which conditions the skis are good for. Athlete/parent meeting -> Postponed until October 24th at 1800.
Saturday (20): Spray Drag race.
Schedule:
8:15am debrief Bill Warren Training Center. Do your warm up after the debrief. Plan to do about 5min of zone 3 in your warm up.Bib pick up – Friday Oct 19 between 2-6pm at ultimate fit center. Last minute pick up can be done at bill warren training center Saturday between 7:45-8:15am
Start Times: Women and Junior Boys/Girls 17 and Under – 9:30am – 5km – Rundle view Entrance.
Open M 18+ – 9:40am – 7.5km – Green gate about 400meters from power plant spill way.
