    Hello Team,

Great skiing on Saturday kicking off the gliding season! We are really getting rolling with lots of events coming your way:

October 24: Strides and Glides. It is a great little time trial to get your body moving both running and skiing, and it is pretty fun. You can go solo or as a team. Costumes are great too if you want to keep it super low key (but still go hard for 3km or 6km).  Sign up here: https://zone4.ca/event/2024/m59lQa/
If you can not race, you can volunteer. Sign up here: https://volunteersignup.org/4TXBX

October 29, 6:30-7:30  Zizu Optics is offering a club discount night (35% off and a free lens valued at $160!) at the BWTC. More details to come.

October 30, 6:30-7:30 we will have a presentation to the 2008 and older athletes by the Montana State University coaches about racing in the NCAA and some of your options for ski racing after high school.

We are getting into some more time trials this time of year to dial in your race day routine/ try out different things.   Just to help with your planning:
Saturday, Nov 2 (Skate Time Trial with MSU/ other local clubs). Sign up will be on next week’s forum.
Wednesday Nov 13 & Thursday, Nov 14– Nordiq Canada Time Trials on Frozen Thunder in the morning. We will still offer training in the evening, but this is a fun time trial opportuniy.  Registration details to come closer to the event.

We will dive into ski testing over the next 2 weeks before the ski swap on November 3rd.  If you have grown more than 4KG, bring your skis in.  If you are the same as last year, your skis will fit the same as last year. Drop skis at the teamroom with your name and weight in KG taped to the ski. They must be scraped, brushed, and cleaned with WAX REMOVER of any kick wax/klister.

    Training this week:

    Monday(21)
    Multi/Primo/TTS
4:45-6:15 Skate ski on Frozen Thunder with some short Z5 to get dialed with technique. Start warming up OYO, meet at the start of FT (by the parking lot) at 5pm.  Weather is looking wintery, but bring you running shoes just in case we are in a tricky re freeze for the snow.

    Tuesday(22)
    Primo/TTS
4:45-6:45 Agility on foot and Strength.  U18 outside first, U16 in the gym first. Meet at the BWTC.

    Wednesday(23)
    Multi/Primo/TTS
4:45-6:15 Z2 Run then Skate Ski. Meet at the teamroom with all your equipment, running shoes on ready to go.

    Thursday(24)
    Everyone: Siblings/parents/aunts/uncle
Strides and Glides.  Register here: https://zone4.ca/event/2024/m59lQa/

This is a fun event and a fundraiser for the club & the Academy. Coaches will be out helping with the event and supporting you to give it a good push!

    Saturday(26)
    Multi/Primo/TTS
10:00-12:00 Classic Ski on Frozen Thunder.  The flatter addition should be in today making for 5km of trail! So we will plan to ski for the full 2hr. Bring your running shoes just in case.

Wax recommendation: Klister base binder (blue kliser), Universal Klister, Let it cool, then 2 layers Rode Violet kick wax over top. Cork lightly just to smooth it out a bit.
