Matt DeCarufelKeymasterHello LCs,
Thank you to everyone who has dropped off their skis for flex testing. The done skis are in the back room rack marked done and have a piece of painter’s tape with all the info on it as well as your new kick wax lines. Let me know if you have any questions.
This week is the inter club pre-swap which will take place in the front half of the teamroom. If you have old race equipment (not rock skis), it would be great to keep it in the club. Mark all your equipment for sale with painter’s tape stating:
-Name
-Phone Number
-Price
-Info about the equipment (ex: this ski is good for a 40kg skier)
Drop off Equipment at training on Monday or Tuesday, Pick up any unsold equipment at the LATEST Thursday at 6:30PM after training.Right now for training we are getting to the transition phase between fall and winter. It is important to check the forum for updates to training given changing weather conditions. Also, bring your running shoes to every session. We may not be able to ski/bike/roller ski in freezing rain, but we can always run!
Frozen Thunder loop is a great resource to have here in town, but the terrain is quite challenging and it is very hard to maintain a heart rate in the proper zone. We will be keeping most skiing workouts to about 1 hour in length and only be skiing on it 1 or 2 times per week. In my opinion, it is not necessary to purchase a frozen thunder pass for the planned team training, but rather pay on a daily basis when we are skiing there during the day.
If you only have 1 pair of poles for roller skiing and skiing, now is the time to change your tips to baskets. With only a handful of roller ski sessions planned, your baskets should be just fine for a couple of sessions.
Training this week:
Tuesday(25) 4:30-6:00 Running intensity OR speed work. Meet at the teamroom.
Wednesday(26) 4:30-6:30 Run/hike. Meet at the teamroom.
Thursday(27) 4:30-6:30 Skate ski on FROZEN THUNDER and strength. Meet at the teamroom. Don’t forget to pick up any unsold items from the inter club swap after training.
Saturday(29) 10:00-12:00 Late this evening there was still quite a bit of water on the Legacy Trail, and with a low of -2C forecasted for tonight, it will most likely be icy tomorrow morning and unsafe riding conditions.
So training for Saturday will be a run instead. Meet at Cougar Creek Parking Lot for a distance run. We will have a 1hr and 2 hr option as some athletes are in different training phases at the moment.
