I saw lots of happy parents and kids at the ski swap. I’m hoping that everyone got what they were looking for and that we now all have kids with gear and are just waiting for the snow to fly.
Track Attack is not in a big rush to get out and explore Frozen Thunder but if you want to test out your new gear the short track is open and free after 5 at night. We are planning on doing a bit more roller skiing as the kids technique is really coming along.
As the days get shorter and our workouts extend into the darkness it’s time to get the headlamps out and change or charge the batteries. From now on it’s a good idea to put a headlamp into your child’s drink belt.
ITA is welcome to join us this Thursday for a hike and will then be taking a break until Banff Day November 14.
For the next 3 weeks there will be no Monday practice. Monday’s practice is replaced with a Sunday morning gymnastic session.
Thursday October 29
This week we will have a special hike on Thursday evening. We are going to meet at 6:00 at the Heart Creek Day use area parking lot across from Lac des Arcs. I would like the kids to dress up in their halloween costumes and hike into the Cold War Bunker Cave. Part of the fun of this hike will be walking in the dusk and dark and then exploring the cave. Kids absolutely need their headlamps. I will need a couple of parents to hike in early and set up some candles and “trick” stations. Please send me an email if you are able to get in to the cave 15 minutes prior to the group and get set up. Pick up will be at 7:30. Parents and siblings and ITA kids are welcome to join our hike.
Sunday November 1
Early morning meeting for gymnastics. We have the gym booked at the rec center from 8:15-9:45. I know it’s early but it’s the only time I could get. The Sunday schedule will remain the same for November 8 and November 15. Kids will be working on strength, balance and agility skills.
