A note from Cross Country Canada regarding the fun event on October 29th

Good afternoon Canmore, Foothills & Calgary Ski Clubs!

We are pleased to invite your club members to the Frozen Thunder Festival 2016, at the Canmore Nordic Centre – a celebration weekend of the beginning of the 2016-17 ski season!

As you may be aware, the Frozen Thunder ski trail is an amazing opportunity for athletes to train early in the season on snow, thanks to a conservation project where a snow pile is created at the end of each winter season and covered in sawdust to preserve 85% until the fall.

On Saturday, October 29th, we are inviting you to come experience Frozen Thunder, for FREE!

    * Join our mascot Klister for a kids costumed race with the National Ski Team & Para-Nordic National Ski Team for an afternoon of fun, inspiration…and pre-Halloween candy!
    * Following the mini-race, we invite you to mingle with your cross-country ski friends & family during a BBQ where the National Ski Teams will be announced. Autographs sessions, Swix clothing sale & more prizes for all!

Stay overnight at the Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge (mention the Festival to get a special CCC Team price!), and on Sunday, October 30th, don’t miss your chance to get a great deal on some top quality xc ski equipment at the Canmore Nordic Ski Swap. You’ll also have a chance to get some tips on waxing with our National Team Technical staff and try out your equipment on Frozen Thunder!

If that isn’t enough to fill your schedule, check out the Banff Mountain Film Festival opening weekend (we have some discounts for FT Festival costume race participants!).

We look forward to seeing you on October 29-30, 2016!

    Cheers,
    Martine
