    Hello LCs,

Hopefully between the preswap and ski swap you are all squared away with your equipment for the upcoming season. If not, let’s talk.

There were quite a few skis out there that could use a stone grind. Let me know if you have questions. Geret Coyne does an amazing job with his stone grinding. If you submit more skis for a grind, you will get a discount. So chat with other athletes/families to submit 1 big group. http://www.grindersskiservice.com/

There are some race deadlines coming up NOV 1 and NOV 15. Please go to the spreadsheet to let us know your plan so we can confirm our reservations. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E5FwR6YeHcZBk12xi4FvRLqS1ljXh51x-K3vcOH-r74/edit#gid=0

There are many different facets to being a good athlete: physical training, mental training, recovery, and nutrition just to name a few. As coaches, we want to help you succeed in all of these aspects to become the best athletes you can be. Next week we will be replacing our Tuesday, Nov 8th physical training session with a Sport Nutrition Workshop by Kelly Anne Erdman from the National Sports Institute. This is an amazing opportunity to have a workshop with her. I want to give you plenty notice so you can be sure to attend and come with a few questions for the interactive workshop to get the most out of the session. More information about Kelly Anne here: http://www.healthandperformancenutritioninc.com

    Training this week:

Tuesday(1) 4:30-6:00 Ski striding intensity. Meet at the teamroom. I know it is Radical Reels tonight, but as it doesn’t start until 7:30, you will have enough time to complete the session, have a quick dinner, and get to the event with a little planning ahead.

Wednesday(2) 4:30-6:30 Wednesday (2): 4:30-6:30 Classic skiing on Frozen Thunder AND classic roller skiing. We will start with roller skiing to focus on double pole and then switch to classic to work on some striding on FT. Wax with a mix of Universal Klister and Rodi ROSA Klister don’t forget your classic roller skis.

Thursday(3)4:30-6:30 With the warm forecast for the weekend, frozen thunder may disappear fast. So we will take advantage of it while it is here. We will Skate Ski on FT and do strength today. LC2 will be in the gym first, LC1 skiing first. Meet at the teamroom.

Saturday(5) 10:00-1:00 Road Bike. Meet at Travel Alberta. It will be great to have some extra parents come along to ride with the group. With the warm temperatures, we will take advantage of a little road biking for a nice long distance workout. Be sure to have at least 2 water bottles (1 sport drink, 1 water), a bar/snack, and appropriate clothes for the weather.
