Sorry if this post is not as fancy or detailed as the last October overview, unfortunately our website was ‘reset’ recently and we lost some information off the Forums.

It’s time to check out your ski gear and start measuring your poles and testing the flex of your skis. All skis should be tested before the pre-swap week 24th – 27th October. When leaving your skis for testing they need to be completely scraped and brushed with all sticky stuff removed from the bottom and side walls. The skis should also be labeled with the name and weight, in kg’s, of the skier.

    Pole height
FIS has just introduced a new equipment rule so we are going to try to abide by it within the Club. Classic poles should be no more than 83% of a skiers height, measured from the ground with ski boots on, to the top of the pole strap. For skating we recommend poles to be 14cm less than the height of the skier, without ski boots on.
