We are really excited to get the race season underway. It’s been a great fall and lots of good skiing already! 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Individual start classic races. Check http://www.zone4.ca for start times. Race course maps are on the club website, please note that the stadium layout map is on the website too. Lap and finish lanes are well marked.

They will remove 1 track under the bridge on the 2.5km course. 3 tracks everywhere around except for that portion of the course.

Please use the tunnel to get to the start. Talk to your coach about where the tunnel is!

This race uses chip timing. You will get this chip at the start. Again, please talk to your coach about it if this is foreign to you.

This is a classic race. No skating is allowed and the rules have tightened up a bit this year. You can only change tracks when there is a corner. No changing lanes on straightaways.

If we don’t already have your skis in the team room already (TT and Track Attack), please deliver them to the team room by 11am please.

Check in: Please stop by the team room 1.75 hours before your start. There will be no space in the team room to hang out, or leave gear, so just collect your bib from the welcoming committee!, get any messages and go put down your backpack in the daylodge.

Courses close at 8:50am, keep in mind that sit skiers are starting at 8:30am. No skiing on the course during the race, unless you are racing! No skiing backwards on the race course at all times. Warm up on Banff Trail or the cross country World Cup trails.

Warm up skis are your responsibility (if you own them). Put a layer of Swix universal klister at home and bring with you in the morning.

Please give any spare poles at the Team Room when you collect your bib if you have any. This is relevant for older skiers only.

Parking: It will be tight. You might have to park on the road, plan your travel accordingly.

Have a plan as to when you are starting your warm up, LC1’s and LC2’s you will be mostly on your own for warm up. Younger categories, will talk to the meet and greet person, and get a time for warm up 🙂 LC2’s need to look on Training Peaks tonight for the cool down protocol.

Leave warm up skis, and poles outside the team room please.

FOR LC/PC/WS: Please bring your Sunday skate race skis with you tomorrow. Put on the same glide wax as Saturday’s race or put it on your skis in the team room after your race. If you decide not to leave your skate race skis on Saturday, bring them to the team room no later than 1.5 hours before your start on Sunday.

Wax helpers, please check into wax room as per the waxing plan- THANKS!

This will be a fun and exciting weekend
