    Sprint skate race on Saturday

    Firstly, great job on Thursday. You did very well. The goal of improving our classic racing is coming along very nicely.

    Arrival:
    Check zone4.ca for your start time. First start is at 9am.
    Arrive on site 1.25hrs before your start. Go straight to the team room to collect your bib and talk to your coach – don’t disappear! If you did not give us your goal forms at training today for Saturday and Sunday, give them to us when you pick up your bib.

    Courses/stadium:
    Junior men and women are on the 1.3km course. Junior b/g and juveniles are on the 800 meters (the hair-pin corner on the 800m course will be farther up the hill so it will not be as fast/challenging as today). Scott is on the 1.7km course.

    Look at the stadium set up before your race. It’s a straight forward stadium setup.

    Courses closes at 8:50am. Warm up track is on any other trail. Make sure you do some hills in your warm up. Warm up well since hills are at the beginning.

    Heats:
    Open men and women at 11:00am
    Junior women and men at 12:15pm
    Junior boys/girls and juveniles b/g 1:45pm

    Awards:
    2:00pm for open and junior m/w
    3:30pm for other categories

    You might want to head back home after the qualifier but please do your cool down first (see below).

    Cool down after race and in-between qualifier and heats:
    Bring some running shoes and go to BWTC to spin on a stationary bike. 15min each time. After the bike, put your legs up against the wall for 5min and do some light stretching. Drink lots and use protein i.e. recovery drink or chocolate milk.
