    Howdy U14’s

Nice job all last week, first ski and first ski stride of the season done! Great work especially to those on Saturday racking up 20+ kilometres on our ski!!

    Housekeeping
If you haven’t had a chance to switch your pole tips, we’ve still got more sessions on our skis this fall. As well, next week we will be putting on some classic roller skis for a change, if you’re able to change your classic poles as well that’ll be handy (For U14-2’s headed to Kimberley, I recommend doing this before you leave!)

Fall Parent meeting will be Tuesday, Sep 17 from 6:00-6:30 in the BWTC Haig Room to touch on the race calendar, program expectations, and give you all a chance to ask questions. If you can’t make it, be sure to have someone come on your behalf to relay the information.

    Lake Louise Camp
Our annual Lake Louise camp is quickly approaching! This will take place the weekend of Nov 9-11. Information can be found here in the Preliminary Trip Doc.  Note that the sign up deadline is October 5th, you can sign up here using the camp/race sign up sheet Sign Up . Simply find your name on the list and select yes or no. If there are any questions please reach out to Caitlin.

Here’s our plan for the week:

Monday (16) @ Canmore Nordic Centre
5:00-6:30. Team run through the nordic centre trails. Meet at the team room.

Tuesday (17) @ Canmore Nordic Centre
5:00-6:30. Skate Roller Ski. Meet at the team room. We’ll go for a bit of distance to start, and work in a little uphill technique.

    Thursday (19) Biathlon
4:45-6:15. We’ll continue our work on some of the fundamentals of shooting, building on our position work from last week.

Don’t forget you need to leave enough time to get to the centre, pick up your rifle from the team room, walk to the range, and set out your mat & rifle for a 4:45 start. For most that’s about 15 minutes, for us to get started on time at the range that’s arriving at 4:30!

    Saturday (21) @ Grassi Knob
1:00-3:30. Meet at Peaks of Grassi Park. We will be ending a little bit later than our usual time of 3:00 to complete the hike, please note the 3:30 end time. Take a look at the weather before you head out Saturday morning to dress appropriately, and be sure to pack 2-3 bars worth of food and a full water belt or vest of water.
