Matt DeCarufelKeymasterHello TTs,
Thank you to everyone who came out to help at the HWY Clean Up! Lots of hands made for fast work, and our section looks much better thanks to your help.
Please note that we will monitor the air quality to make sure that the conditions are safe to operate a group session. We will make a decision on if a session is a go or not 3 hours before each workout (2 hours for a morning session). We will post the cancellation on this forum (no posting if the workout is a go). We will be more conservative than usual in our decision making as we don’t want athletes to develop a dry cough that could be interpreted as a symptom for COVID-19 and have to isolate or take a COVID-19 test.
Try to find a little system for your daily health screening, maybe the same time you fill it out for school? Or set a reminder on your phone in the afternoon? It makes me very sad to not let someone partake in the session when they are healthy and just forget. On the other side, be sure you are taking good stock of your health to protect your POD and staying home if needed.
There have been some questions about the race calendar, but there are too many unknowns at this moment to build the TT Race Schedule. Once more is known, I will share the plan (hopefully by mid October) and run a meeting (most likely over Zoom).
Training This Week:
Monday(21) Ski Striding @ CNC
POD 4- 5:00-6:15
POD 5- 6:15-7:30
We will meet in front of the teamroom. Please leave space in the field beside the teamroom as Track Attack will be meeting there. Bring your ski striding poles (last years classic poles, or 80% of your height to be specific), running shoes, and drink belt.Tuesday(22) Biathlon @ CNC
POD 4 Biathlon 4:45-6:15 *Arrive between 4:30 – 4:40 to set up!*Wednesday(23) Silver Tip Uphill Run #4 @ the parking lot East of the Holiday Inn
Directions here: https://goo.gl/maps/FipRQVGAyL9YuLXs8
POD 4- 5:15-6:30
POD 5- 5:00-6:15This uphill running challenge has been a new event this year we started with the club, and this will be the 4th time to run it! Coaches will be timing the start, mid station, and finish with “live results!” Very simply put, the goal is to run as fast as possible up the Silver Tip Climb on the walking path. Map below. It is 1km long, with 100M of climbing, and on average took the T2 athletes about 8 minutes to complete the run. It is awesome to race against the clock, and builds some great fitness. Evan and Matt will take 1 pod each for their warm up and go to the start as a group, run the climb as well, and meet each pod at the finish. Then each pod will cool down to finish at the drop off location by the cemetery.
If you can not attend the STUR, please email Matt by Tuesday so we can adjust the start list.

The weather forecast was updated today calling for fresh snow, wind gusts of 60km/hr, and a temperature feeling like -10 C for Mist Ridge area, so we have cancelled the hike.New plan: Run the Highline & Loki Trail keeping the same start time.
POD 4: 9:30-11:30
POD 5: 9:40-11:40Be sure to dress for the weather, (toque and gloves help a lot, you can always put them in your pocket if you are too warm). We will be running on the flats and hiking the up hills, but moving continuously for most of the session. Bring your water and a bar to eat in the middle of the run.
