Hello Team, I hope everyone had a nice relaxing first week of school. We are midway into the specific preparation phase now and only 6 weeks before hitting the snow! Time flies…
ADT athletes are in Red Deer for a camp. Have fun, learn lots…
Note that we will have a big club hike up Tent Ridge in Kananaskis Country on Saturday 27th. All athletes and parents of Track Attack, TT, LC, PC programs are invited.
Here’s the plan for next week. Matt is away week, Winsport Team Coach Eric Denys will attend all workouts.
Monday (8): No team training this week -> LC2 check TP
Tuesday (9): LC1 & LC2 xc and biathlon. 4:30-6:00pm, team room. We will attempt to ski tonight (with skate rock skis). Who would have thought that we would ski in September in town! Bring your running shoes as well to run outside and we might also do some strength in the gym. Just a mish mash of training.
Wednesday (10): All LC1 & LC2 except for LC1 biathlon. 4:30-6:15pm. We will have 2 stations: 1) ski in the xc stadium for fun (roc skis are best) and run 2) agility and strength in the gym. Bring all the necessary gear and meet at team room.
Thursday (11): LC1 & LC2 xc. Team room. 4:30-6:30pm. RS-CL with some strength. Bring your reflective vest today. Rollerski from your house to CNC (depart 4:30) if you live in Rundleview, Peaks of Grassi or where the Godfrey live.
Saturday (13). LC1 & LC2 xc and biathlon (if not racing the biathlon races). There is still quite a bit of snow in the forest so we will now rollerski. Meet at the Alberta Visitor Centre on Bow Valley Trail at 9am. We will classic rollerski west on the Legacy Trail (make sure your pole tips are sharp). We will finish at the top of Norquay road at 11:30am – please arrive on time so athletes don’t freeze at the end of the workout. Bring sport drink, and a couple of sport bars.
