THIS SATURDAY IS THE “COOKIE RACE”. IT TAKES PLACE IN PETER LOUGHEED PROVINCIAL PARK. It is always a fun event for all. The Cookie Race is a cross-country ski race open to the public of all ages, emphasizing participation, personal challenge, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and fun.

The Foothills Nordic Ski Club from Calgary is the host club of the event. More details can be found here: http://www.foothillsnordic.ca/ksm.jsp

    The distances are:
    12 – 14 year olds (born 1995-97): 5 km
    15 – 17 year olds (born 1992-94): 15km
There are also 15km, 24km and 42km for adults

These distances are a bit further than usual, but it is a great challenge if you pace yourself accordingly. It’s a great opportunity to ski with a bunch of other people somewhere else than the Nordic Centre.

The registration is online at http://www.zone4.ca and closes on Wednesday February 25th at 9:30pm. The coaches in the club will be there in the morning to help all the club members with the waxing (look for the CNSC banner around the Pocaterra hut).

    Cheers,
