    Stage race! Fun, friendly, short, fast racing…

    OUR CLUB IS HOSTING THIS FUN RACE FORMAT FOR T1 AND OLDER SKIERS AND BIATHLETES

    Event details:
    3 Stages: Sprint, prologue, and downhill

    Feb 7: Sprint race, in skating: qualifier at 5:00pm, heats immediately after.
    -> 500m race for skiers born 1998?, 1999, and 2000
    -> 1000m race for 1998? (or 1997) and older.
    We will determine later which course the 1998’s will do. They will get a time bonus if they race on the long course

    Feb 9: “Estimation Prologue” at 9:30am. Classic
    Arrive at CNC team room 8:30
    warm up starts at 9:00, and prologue starts at 9:30.

    Grip wax recommendation:
    1) clean grip zone – sand
    2) apply start wide universal klister as a base binder. Leave time for this to “freeze”, put it outside overnight, or for 30 minutes so that it is very hard.
    3) Rode violet (0 degrees) was working friday as a top coat. Apply the number of layers that your skis take, MINUS ONE. Then we can add a faster top layer, or another violet if needed.
    4) keep the layers on the thin side or err on the side of less, as this wax can be sticky to apply
    5) we can fine tune in the morning
    Glide Wax:
    Solda Performance Red, or Swix LF6

    -> Approx. dist: 1.5km for 1999-2000, 2.0km for 1997-98 (incl women 1995-96), 2.5km for 1996-95 men+ 1994 and older women, 3.0km for 1994 and older men
    -> Course will be announced just 20min prior to start. Athletes can ski the course once after which they must estimate their finishing times (no watches can be worn while racing!)

    Feb 9: Downhill race at 11am (following prologue). Skating
    -> Approx. distance: 3km. Start at top of the Canmore Nordic Centre and finish at the bottom
    -> Current Tour Da Ski standings will determine start order.
