It would be great to see a few more of you at workouts on Tuesday. I know you have other sports and music but if you can make it to the workout, you really should. It’s a nice way to stay connected to your ski buddies during Spring and Summer and also to get a quality physical workout in during the week if you are getting bogged down with non-physical activities. Hopefully you are all keeping busy with some great outdoor adventures with your families and friends on the weekends!

Tuesday 14th 4:30 – 6pm: Meet at LGMS running track
15 minute running threshold test. We use this test to find the lactate threshold in older skiers but it is great practice for younger skiers to learn how to pace when pushing yourself hard over 15 minutes. As many of your races are around this length it will have great benefits for your mental training in staying focused when the work is hard. If you have a heart rate monitor, put it on for the workout, if not, no worries.

    Tuesday 21st 4:30 – 6pm: Meet at Team Room
Uphill running test. It’s time to challenge ourselves with some uphill running. Many of you have been playing lots of sports or biking so this will be a great workout to see where your fitness is at and how hard you can push yourself. Please bring a drink belt.

Tuesday 28th 4:30 – 6pm: Meet at the Team Room
Run and strength testing. The strength testing involves 1 minute of an activity, then 1 minute rest for 10 minutes (5 minutes work, 5 minutes rest). The activities are: pull ups, sit ups, push ups, box jumps, dips. It would be great for you to come to this session so you can get an idea of where your strength is at and what we need to work on over the summer! It is a hard test but you are all mentally tough so I know you can do it!
**Please note: you will need a change of shoes to go in to the gym at the BWTC. It is preferred that members where ‘indoor’ shoes so they don’t track mud and dirt from outside in to the gym.

Our Canada Day fun run is just around the corner so get your family and friends excited. If you have been playing a lot of soccer or doing track, I recommend you sign up for the 5km event to test yourself over a longer distance. if you haven’t been doing a lot of intensive exercise then give the 3km a go and try to run as hard as you can for the whole time!

Register by June 23 to get the early bird registration. 10km for all LCs. http://www.grizzlyevents.ca/canmore-can … n-run.html

Just a heads up, the T2 program will take a break for the first 2 weeks of summer.

Spend the day appreciating every little thing that comes your way, and you’ll end the day feeling deeply grateful for your life!
