New: Ski with Alaric – Fun intensity workouts for adults
Who is Alaric?
Alaric can be seen skiing, racing and supporting his kids at the Canmore Nordic Centre almost every day of the week.
He likes to be social and likes to suffer (well, a little bit, but honestly, not for too long, or too much suffering).
He also likes having friends to push each other, but then to remember the good stuff in life (like a glass of wine afterwards).
This is a ski group that will focus on some fun hard work. Sessions will be loosely structured around intensity training, with only a bit of technique sprinkled in. Each session will include a warm up, some form of workout, and a cool down. Skiers are expected to be intermediate / advanced, but will be arranged for some diversity within the participants.
Techniques will switch between classic and skating, although will be flexible enough that if someone only wants to do one, they can participate in every session. Alaric is fairly lazy, so if the forecast looks cold, the group will probably classic, and if the weather is warmer, then would likely skate (save klister for your kid’s skis or a special race day).
If the weather is frighteningly cold (-15 and windy), sessions will be cancelled. If the weather and season cooperate, there may be a make-up session on the weekend, but no guarantees.
Cost: $150 / person
Dates:
Wednesday evening 7:00 – 8:30.
A headlamp is strongly recommended as the group will occasionally venture off the night loop.
